My daughter has been moved to NICU at Princess Alexandra hospital and the staff are struggling with funding for general needs for mother’s and babies to be comfortable in the unit and look after the babies. When I arrived I asked if I could use the microwave to sterilise my bottles and breast pump and they told me there isn’t one as they don’t have the funding as incubators cost £30k and the NHS don’t see that a microwave for sterilisation of feeding equipment is needed. The microwave would cost no more than £100. The chairs are old and ripped and difficult to hold skin to skin with premature babies that are so small but don’t recline at all to enable comfort for parents and babies so id like to buy some of these for the unit too. Any donations are greatly appreciated to help mums looking after their babies do it properly and comfortably.
