Funding for new active user wheelchair
Donation protected
As most of you are aware, back in December 2020 I was in a car accident. This resulted in me being permanently paralysed from mid torso down, and my relying on a wheelchair full time to get me around.
While I really appreciate the support provided by the NHS, the continued pressure on funding limits the amount of specialist equipment they can provide to individuals like myself. A made to measure active user wheelchair will allow me to navigate daily life with increased ease, as well as aiding my physical health overtime. Maintaining my independence for as long as possible is a priority for me, using a well suited chair can increase this massively. If a chair is of poor fit it will put strain on certain areas causing damage in the future.
The decision to reach out for financial assistance is not one I ever planned on making. I have turned down many fundraisers in the past few years, wanting to be as self-sufficient as possible. But keeping up with ongoing physiotherapy costs and my current inability to work has created a challenging financial situation.
Thanks for taking the time to read the above, I really appreciate any help at all as I know it’s a tight time for a lot of people currently.
