Funding for Community Fridge in Kalamazoo, MI

Hello! We are a group of people in partnership with Food Not Bombs to create a Community Fridge in Downtown Kalamazoo outside of the Peoples Food Co-OP.
To prepare for the winter we are building a shelter for the Kzoo community fridge. Our projected budget is $600 for supplies like wood, nails, paint + brushes, and tools to get the community fridge on its feet. You can find updates on our Instagram @downtownkzoocommunityfridge (-:
We encourage everyone to participate in the fridge community as the nationwide movement creates a relationship between community members through the medium of food.
For those who are not familiar with community fridges, community fridges have been popping up nationwide in response to food inequities in our communities that have been exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of the fridge is to have a space where people can donate and take food 24/7!
