Hi all! We are a study abroad program from the University of Pittsburgh, called Pitt MAP. We have been to Shanghai, Sydney, and are now in Buenos Aires studying global health.
This morning we had the opportunity to visit Fundación CONIN at their site outside of Buenos Aires. Here, they are doing amazing work to support women and children living in poverty. This organization specifically focuses on addressing the needs of malnourished children and their mothers. Additionally, CONIN provides these women with basic resources and education to promote their well-being as women, as well as to foster the intimate connection between mother and child. This is done through nutritionist check-ins, visits with pediatricians, writing classes, and educational support. However, like most organizations in poverty-stricken areas, they are severely underfunded.
After our visit, we realized we have the ability to help this amazing organization by tapping into our own resources and networks. That being said, we have created this page to raise money for CONIN because we saw first-hand how successful this organization is in changing the lives of women and children.
We leave in Buenos Aires in about two weeks, and until then, we would like to work toward raising as much money as possible to gift to CONIN. They need funds for the upkeep of the facility, in addition to expanding their services to help more families.
