Following is our detailed profiles.
We are students from United World College Dilijan – an international school in Armenia. With more than 70 nationalities represented, our school, as a part of UWC movement, has a dream to change the world.
We have been admitted to UC Berkeley for the class of 2021. We are very excited about spending the next four years in one of the best universities in the world, however, we need your help to cover the tuition costs. We have worked hard to achieve a place in this university and are ready for a new challenge. Here is who we are.
Dua Shamsi is an 18 year old girl from Pakistan. She has the honor of being the first Pakistani to study in Armenia. In the future she hopes to improve the relationship between her motherland, Pakistan, and Armenia, the country she has come to call home. Dua is interested in Physics, English Literature and Theater. By attending College of Letters and Science in Berkeley, Dua hopes to explore all her interests through the liberal arts program before choosing her major.
Davyd Shyroian is Ukrainian of Armenian descent from Dnipro, Ukraine. His victory in the National Ukrainian Olympiads (academic competitions) in Computer Science and Mathematics in 2015 motivated him to continue exploring these subjects. In particular, he conceived a desire to relate his future with the development of artificial intelligence, which he believes is the most progressive and change-making field nowadays. David reckons that through education at UC Berkeley, he will be able to enrich his knowledge in the information technologies (IT) and realize his dream of making the world a better place.
Abraham Aznauryan is from Yerevan, Armenia. Being academically and socially involved in the political and economic sphere, he is determined to study international relations and political economy, aiming to bring solutions to many of the current problems in Armenia. His passion to explore this field is shaped by his volunteering experience, interest in social understanding, and studying in many multicultural schools. These raised his awareness of social, political and economic issues, widening his perspectives and views, integrating him further into the society.
The money raised through this campaign will be split between the three of us to cover the tuition fee and the room and board for attending UC Berkeley.
Help us to achieve our dream and we promise to make you proud.
