Cancer & thieves will not stop me

Hello! My name is Chris! I am a 40 year old husband, father of two, and I am asking for your help!

Allow me to fill you in on some details first. In 2015 I opened a gaming and hobby store named Tactical Advantage Games & Hobbies. I'm a lifetime hobbiest and nerd who decided that it was time to take my love for the hobby and turn it into a business. I with the help of close friends put togeather a very nice, clean, and friendly store store front and we've been building it gradually over the last two and a half years.

Then in late 2016 I was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer and begain treatment immediatly.  Over the course of the fall and winter, starting on my 39th birthday, I went through heavy radation and chemo-theropy treatments which made the holidays rough. I wouldn't let it slow me down though. I continued to work the store everyday and remained coach of my son's pee-wee football team showing to all the practices and games. We made it all the way to the Super Bowl although we fell short of a championship.

On March 20th I went in to have the tumor removed and I got a mixed bag of news. The tumor had shrunk from the size of a softball to the size of an egg but they would have to remove a sizable length of the lower intestine and I would have a colostomy bag the rest of my life.

Then things got dicey. Post surgery I started bleeding internaly and it wasn't detected. I was sent home and nearly died three days home after two weeks in the hospital. I was rushed back in and spent another two weeks in a hospital bed as they tried to fined where the problem was. I sought legal consul to see if I could pursue a lawsuit against the hospital but was told by several firms that the payout for what I had endured was less than the cost of the trail and no one would take my case.

The rest of 2017 was difficult. We have thousands of dollars in bills now and the store suffered from slow spring sales leaving it 20k behind the amount of sales in 2016. We buckled down and worked hard and climbed out of that hole over the next 8 months and as of December 30th we were up on 2016 by 900 dollars. Then the next catastrophe of course happned.

In the early hours of Dec 31st, New Years Eve, the store was burgaled and over 7,000 dollar of merchandice and cash were stolen.  The store was uninsured as before the biopsy came back saying I had cancer I opted to get a life insurance policy so dropped the store insurance as I would be ineligible after the fact.

No one wants to be put into a positon where they have to ask others for money. I am unfortunatly in that position. My store is hub of activity and would be considered a success if it were not for these two crippling events.

The funds that you donate will be used to help righten the store finances and put us in a position to take loans to start rebuilding again as well as help me pay on back payments on my home and medical bills.

My window of keeping my home or my store is closing. Any amount you could give would see me keep my home and my job both of which I've spent countless hours improving and making welcome for all. You would truly be saving my world by helping.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this and my deepest gratitude to all of you who decide to reach out to a neighbor and help. I can only hope that I can help you in turn one day.

My sincerest regards,

Chris
