Fund the Sharice Davids Documentary

Sharice Davids made history during the midterm elections as the first openly gay, Native woman to be elected to US Congress. Dismissed as a rookie and an outsider, Sharice blew away the opposition in one of the most powerful, inclusive and defiant campaigns that Kansas and the country has ever seen.

Underneath that incredible result is a woman who understands what really matters:  genuine connection and caring for and with people who deserve a better life, a different way.  In this honest and intimate film, Emmett Williams shows us Sharice in her most real moments--in the car, with her mom, being candid and open with people from her community, new friends and old allies--where making sure that all the voices are represented is crucial. And where the best qualification for public service is a relentless determination to honor people and families who are too often manipulated in the political process instead of deeply listened to and heard.

Will you help us tell this story? We need $15,000 to complete this documentary and launch this story out into the world.  Your contribution helps us finish the final days of shooting, complete editing and post-production.  Help us elevate Sharice's story as a source of hope and determination for other would-be lawmakers and supporters who can make a difference when you have the courage needed to defy the odds.
