Fund raising for the families in Gambia

I am running a half marathon in January to sponsor families in the Gambia for school, college and for food throughout the rainy season. 
 
Me and my family have been visiting the Gambia for over 15 years. The people and place hold a special place in our hearts, we have many people there who we regard as close friends. My dad and uncle Joe have been sending money every year to help the families and would be good to raise some money to contribute to this. 
 
 The main issue in the Gambia is that the work is seasonal and focuses on tourism. Therefore, in the rainy season, all hotels shut down and there is a lack of income through this time.  They work around 16 to 18 hours a day, 6 days a week. The monthly salary is around 12 pounds. Most work as waiters in hotels. Even though life is extremely difficult, the Gambian people are amongst the happiest I've ever met and it would be fantastic if I could raise some money to help the people. 

Any money donated would be greatly appreciated.  A pound goes a long way to the Gambian people and I can guarantee the money donated will help the Gambian people massively.
