Get By With a Little Help from My Friends!
Many of my friends are professional musicians. Recently some of us realized that a musician can easily brush up against hard times and find themselves not able to earn money with their craft for a time.
A temporary setback can leave a musician with no way to survive for a time. Well, we decided to do something about this. All the details are yet to be "fleshed out," but we are establishing a fund that can offer grants to help artists to overcome a temporary hardship and get back on stage.
To get this fund established, we are having a fundraising concert at Holladay United Church of Christ on March 14th. The final line up is still a bit in flux, but I assure you that it will be an amazing evening!
This will be a particularly enjoyable night for me as over the past few years, I have limited my performing to my "church gig." This will give me the opertunity to play live with some of my favorite musicians in a "kick ass band!" In addition to that, we will hear other groupings of awesome musicians as well.
You will get to see performances from: (In various combinations) Bronwin Beecher, Mindy Dillard, Kate Kate MacLeod, Mary Danzig, Anke Summerhill and Matthew Seabury. And also a reboot of my old band, Mountain Aire, featuring: Bill Green, Jonathen Green, Matt Seabury, Amy Beotger, Mary Danzig and Steve Ault.
In addition to the great music, there will be a silent auction of artwork by Raynola Dominguez.
All seats will be by donation and all proceeds will go to the fund to be used as described.
