Fund our Community Shop Freezer

Donation protected
We are a not for profit Community Shop serving a rural community. We have 56 volunteers helping in the Shop and stock a wide range of products, we support many local suppliers. Our customers and volunteers tell us how much they value having this local resource for practical and social reasons.

The village took over the running of the Shop in 2009, and the Post Office in 2014. Over the past 10 years many improvements have been made including a refurbishment in 2018.

Unfortunately in recent months we have experienced a string of bad luck and a number of display freezers have failed in quick succession.

Due to this we have been losing approximately £100 income per week  since the beginning of January.  This also means we have been  unable to provide the service that our customers have come to rely on. This particularly affects our more vulnerable customers who are less able to travel and depend on us to meet their needs.

We need urgent funds to enable us to replace display freezers so that we can continue to offer what our community needs. As a Community Shop it is very hard to compete on price with the supermarkets hence we operate on very small margins. However we do pride ourselves on outstanding service and have a wider value in the community in combating social isolation. We have a small coffee shop where people enjoy chatting and social events.

We are a small Shop but we have a big heart we would so appreciate any funds that can help us continue to support our Community here in rural Devon.
