Hello, my name is Millie. My human has had to have a leg amputation due to a very serious blood clot in his leg.

I want to go to school to be certified as a support dog to help him. He was rushed to our local hospital on February 3, 2025, and then had to be sent to Indianapolis later that evening. It was really scary; they took him by helicopter. They did the first surgery that night trying to save his leg, but due to lack of circulation, they had to do a second surgery on the 4th and took his leg above the knee. Unfortunately, on February 10, 2025, they had to do a third surgery, taking his leg just under his groin area due to more dead tissue.

My human is currently in rehab, and I’m living with my aunt. When he gets out, we will both live here for a while because we need a new handicapped accessible place to live.

I’m still a baby and need to learn some manners and some extra care skills so I can save my human like he saved me when he adopted me. If you can help us, it would be greatly appreciated. If you can’t help monetarily, please share my story with others. Thank you for reading my story.
