Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, cousin and friend, Jeannette McKenzie, who lost her courageous battle with an illness. Sister McKenzie was not only a cherished family member but also a pillar in our community, known for her extraordinary talent as a pianist and her dedication to teaching and inspiring others through music.
Throughout her life, Sister McKenzie touched the hearts of many with her beautiful piano performances and her passion for sharing her musical gifts with others. She was a beloved teacher who mentored countless students, instilling in them a love for music and nurturing their talents.
As we come to terms with this profound loss, we are reaching out to our community for support. We are humbly requesting assistance in raising $50,000 to help cover the funeral and memorial expenses for Sister McKenzie. These funds will ensure that we can give her the dignified farewell she deserves, and honor her memory in a meaningful way.
In addition to honoring her legacy through the funeral arrangements, we also plan to establish a scholarship fund in Sister McKenzie’s honor. This fund will support aspiring musicians and music students in pursuing their dreams, carrying forward the passion for music that she so deeply embodied.
Your kind and generous contributions will not only help us give Sister McKenzie the farewell she deserves, but also – through the establishment of the Scholarship Fund – will create a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire and support future generations of musicians and music lovers, in the community where she humbly and open-heartedly served for over 60 years.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and love during this difficult time. Together, we can celebrate the life and legacy of a remarkable woman who brought so much joy and beauty to the world through her music and her pure heart.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Beloved Family of Sister Jeannette McKenzie
