Dear Friend,
My name is Gideon Davis, and I am a homeschool student who loves theatre and music. I have been selected to represent Saline as a foreign exchange student to Brazil through the Rotary Club of Saline. Rotary is a global network of more than 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves through service. This exchange is a year-long program, and I am excited to spend my senior year abroad. Through this exchange, I am hoping to improve my communication skills, learn a foreign language through experience, understand different family dynamics, serve a new community, and simply try out new things in general. I am very excited to go on this international youth exchange.
One of the things that has surprised me about preparing to go on an exchange is how expensive it is and how much work it is to raise and earn enough money to go on the trip. However, this has not deterred me from wanting to go, and I am still willing to do the work required to go on this youth exchange. In order to raise this money, I have been doing community fundraisers, asking for business sponsorships, and got a job at Jet’s Pizza. Another part of my fundraising plan is to reach out to my family and friends to see if they will contribute to my trip.
Please consider donating to my goal of $7,000 to cover program fees and travel costs. If you would rather donate to the Rotary Club of Saline directly, please contact me.
I appreciate your love and support,
Gideon Davis
