Hi! My name is Joannis and I am 18 years old. I love the Lord with all of my heart and am passionate about using my life to serve Him and His people, wherever He may call me!n After I fully committed my life to Jesus in November 2022, the Lord put it on my heart to go to ministry school following my senior year of high school. I was immediately drawn to Youth With A Mission because I love and feel called to the mission field. Through prayer and confirmation from God, I landed on the campus located in beautiful Ensenada, Mexico. While most start their "next step" in the fall after graduating, this school starts in January. I felt led to move to San Diego in search of community and fresh surroundings, so taking a leap of faith I moved in the beginning of September. These past few months in San Diego have been the sweetest gift from the Lord imaginable. It’s been a season of preparation, growth, and amazing experiences. I have found a truly beautiful community of believers who have become family. I am writing to ask you to partner alongside me through prayer, and to fund this mission. About Youth With A Mission: YWAM is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus worldwide and living out the mission: Know God and make Him Known. A calling that came from Matthew 28:18-20 "Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'" About Discipleship Training School: I will attend a DTS program in Ensenada through YWAM. This is a 5-month training program starting January 11th and ending May 31st. It is split into two phases, the first three months are the lecture phase and focus on knowing God, His Word, and His world. Seeking transformation, a renewed mind, and personal growth, learning through classroom instruction, community living, and practical training. Then, I will live this mission out in the last two months known as the outreach phase. My class will break up into teams to serve God out in the world. It will be a chance to experience new cultures as I care for people and share the good news of Jesus Christ. The location of the outreach is not revealed until a few weeks into the lecture phase, so I will make sure to send out an update when we are told!
