Fund for Tom Gaykowski

Fundraiser by Mike Gaykowski and LuAnne Kozma for our brother Tom Gaykowski

 Our brother Tom had a hard start in life. Born while our mom was dying of cancer, he never really had the benefit of her care. A few years after her death, our dad, John M. Gaykowski remarried. In his teen years, Tom was diagnosed with schizophrenia. He has lived in various hospitals and group homes since that time. Dad always made time for Tom, visiting him as often as possible, while working with the various hospitals and social service agencies to keep him in proper care and attending to his health. In recent years, Tom has been doing okay in a group home, but has daily challenges. In keeping with Dad’s actual wishes, he always wanted to continue some level of care for Tom.  We won’t let our dad down and will continue to take care of Tom. We will establish a fund to help care for Tom’s continued needs and for some fun things in life,  as Dad would have done.
