기도동역자님께 주님의 은혜와 평강이 함께 하시길 소원합니다.

지난 7월 24일 주일 WPC워싱턴연합기도회 직전에 메릴랜드에서 큰 교통사고가 발생하여, 한명숙 사모님(물댄동산교회 한상우 목사님의 사모)이 크게 다치는 사고가 발생하였습니다. 생명을 위협하는 큰 사고였지만, Washington Medstar Hospital에 긴급후송하여 두차례에 걸친 척추수술을 거쳤고 얼굴 정형수술을 하였습니다. 좌측 4개, 우측 2개의 갈비뼈와 왼쪽 어깨 날개 뼈가 골절하여 자가치유 과정을 밟고 있습니다. 11일째(8/3) ICU에서 일반병실로 옮겨 회복중이며, 8/10부터 재활훈련중입니다. 척추수술에도 불구하고 아직 하체 신경과 근육이 정상을 회복하지 못하고 있어서 회복을 위해 기도해 주십시오. 그리고 대소변 감각이 활성화되고, 수술 받은 얼굴뼈들이 속히 회복되어 음식섭취가 가능하도록 기도해 주십시오.

참새 한 마리도 하나님의 허락 없이는 떨어지지 않는데, 중요한 기도회와 리더쉽수련회를 앞두고 일어난 사고에 대해 현장에 있었던 많은 기도자들은 경성하며 기도할 수 밖에 없었습니다. 그리고 수 많은 중보기도자들이 이 소식을 듣고 기도에 동참하여 한명숙 사모님의 회복을 위해 한마음으로 금식기도로 동참하고 있습니다. 또한 실로암 망대의 사고에 대해 예수님께서 말씀하신 것처럼 우리 각자의 죄를 회개하며 기도하고 있습니다.

향후 많은 의료 관련 비용이 발생하며, 가족들이 정상적인 생활로 복귀할 때까지 재정적 어려움이 많을 것으로 생각합니다. 이사야서의 말씀처럼 형제의 아픔에 마음이 동하며 필요를 채워주는 것이 우리가 금식하며 하나님께 은혜와 긍휼을 얻는 길입니다. 모든 것을 합력하여 선을 이루시며 죽은 자마저 살리시는 주님의 역사를 기대합니다. 또한 한명숙 사모님의 사고가 희망의 증거가 되고, 우리는 이 일의 증인되길 소망합니다.

가족의 동의를 얻어 펀드레이징을 하려고 합니다. 주님께서 주시는 감동대로 크든 적든 기부를 해 주시면, 한상우 목사님과 한명숙 사모님 가정이 회복되는데 큰 격려가 되고 힘이 될 것으로 믿습니다.

의료비는 자동차보험, 건강보험, 메디케이드, 병원재정지원 프로그램을 통해 해결하려고 방법을 찾고 있으며, 기부금은 한상우 목사님과 한명숙 사모님 가정에 생활비 등 꼭 필요한 곳에 사용될 수 있도록 WPC후원계좌로 받아 전달할 예정입니다.

May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all in prayer!

As many of you may already know, on July 24th, just before the Washington Prayer Coalition’s (WPC) Monthly Prayer Meeting, a major road accident occurred involving our very own Mrs. Myong-Sook Han of Well-Watered Garden Church in Fairfax. As we stated in our previous newsletter, Mrs. Han was incapacitated with multiple life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash, and has since undergone multiple major spinal surgeries and facial orthopedic surgery at Washington Medstar Hospital. On August 3rd (11th day of admission), Mrs. Han was then transferred from the Intensive Care Unit and on the 10th, began the rehabilitation process for six fractured ribs and the scapula in her left shoulder blade. As a result of her injuries and the many major surgeries thereafter, Mrs. Han continues to face incredible difficulty with regaining any mobility in her lower body, as well as with controlling her bowel movements. In addition, she has been hard-pressed to ingest food as her facial tissue is still quite damaged.

By God's grace, the brain and other vital organs are not severely damaged. However, we remain in earnest prayer for her nervous system as she continues to experience numbness throughout her lower body while hoping for the rapid healing of the many fractured bones in her body.

After hearing the news, many intercessors in our area, as well as each of our WPC members have joined in prayer and a joint fasting-chain for the speedy recovery of Mrs.Han.For those reading this emergency newsletter now, we are calling upon your urgent prayer and financial support as well! As a result of the unimaginable upheaval the accident has caused in Mrs. Han’s and Pastor Han’s family, we, the WPC, with the consent of the Han family, have put together this newsletter in our effort to organize an Essential Living-Expense Fund through the WPC Sponsorship Account. As the bulk of our available resources currently go toward resolving the Han family’s vast medical expenses, the WPC Fund would provide greatly appreciated support in helping the Han’s maintain any sense of normalcy and financial stability. Regardless of the sum, you may be able to give, large or small, any donation in accordance with the Lord’s will is incredibly appreciated and will serve as great encouragement for Mrs. Han and her family.
