Fund for Jennifer Carnes

My wonderful friend Jennifer Carnes was diagnosed again with cancer. She has stage IV breast cancer that has spread to her liver, bones, and lungs. We are hoping people will help support my beautiful friend and her family during this devestating time.

Upon meeting and engaging in conversation with Jennifer Carnes, it is blatantly obvious why she is such a well respected educator in the Little Egg Harbor School District. Her passion and fifteen years of commitment to education is evident within minutes upon meeting her. As you get to know her on a more personal level, you'll witness her dedication as a wife and mother of her own two children; Julia (13) and Giovanni (8).
What is not as obvious upon meeting Jennifer is how she is fighting for her life, as she is battling breast cancer for a third time. Jennifer's former remission of cancer ended in May 2016 as she received her second diagnosis. She underwent chemotherapy and radiation throughout the entire 2016-2017 school year.
Unrelentlessly, Jennifer continued to perform both at work and at home while she underwent treatments. Friends could see pictures that she posted on social media of her kids' sports games and events that she attended. One could not help but think, " How does she do it?"
Today we are acting as advocates for this amazing woman, mother, educator, friend, and our hero. Jennifer's recent PET scan revealed that her cancer has metacystized to her lungs, liver, and bone. We are reaching out to everyone to ask for monetary donations to help Jennifer and her family in this time of desperate need.

7/2/13: first diagnosis: Stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer-left side

9/13-12/13: First rounds of chemo

1/14-3/14: First rounds of radiation

5/14: 1st clear scan

6/30/16-second diagnosis: Stage 2, triple negative breast cancer-right side

8/16-11/16: rounds of chemo for this diagnosis

1/17-3/17: radiation rounds for this diagnosis

6/17-supposed to go for Scan but too much swelling/lymphadema in breast, so schedule petscan instead.

7/17-Petscsan does not come back clear, but shows cancer has advanced to Stage IV and has invaded multiple organs. (bone, liver and lungs)

8/2/17-began chemo again, weekly treatments with one week off per month.

Will be scanned again in a few weeks to see if this chemo shrinking any of the tumors.
