Help make beauty product recycling free for all

No matter what kind of skincare and cosmetic packaging you use - even if it is plastic free (like glass bottles) - you need to make sure it’s being recycled properly.
If it’s not, then it just means more landfill and more strain on the environment.
Here at Happy Skincare we feel an ENORMOUS responsibility as a brand that our impact on the Earth is not a negative one. We don’t even want a neutral impact. We want to make this place better, happier, healthier for everyone.
Up till recently, L'Oreal have been funding a free beauty products recycling program that was managed by the amazing folk over at Terracycle. We've been collecting the returned beauty product empties from our customers (and customers of other beauty brands!) and sending them to Terracycle for recycling (the right way!).
Sadly this program is closing and without paying a significant amount of money to Terracycle to start our own program, the caring and dedicated recyclers of Australia no longer have a free way to recycle their difficult-to-recycle packaging.
This means that items like pumps and tubes will most likely become landfill instead of being recycled, since local councils can't recycle them. To us that's pretty devastating!
We'd be incredibly grateful if you could help us raise enough funds to get the Terracycle beauty products program back up and running and available for all brands to use.
If we meet our targets of funding a recycling program (this is in excess of $40,000-$50,000 per year), we will devote any excess funds raised to buying equipment needed to be able to sterilise and re-use glass and polypropylene packaging, removing the need to recycle them and just re-use them instead (it's 1 step better) :)
If we don't manage to meet our hefty fundraising goal, we'll be able to support your recycling dreams in a smaller way by making recycling free for our own Happy Skincare community, but not for everyone nation-wide. We'll aim big, but we're incredibly thankful for any donation, however small.
Recycling needs to be accessible and reliable and with your help we can get there. Thanks so much, happy friends xox
