My name is Adrienne and I'm a flutist, improviser, and performance artist based in the New York Metro Area. I've been working on a new project, Echoes of Unspoken Weight. The project is meant to be a public performance piece; I want to invite people to meditate on what is left by the people or things they lose, and how they carry it.

I was recently accepted into the Leighton Artist Studios Program at the Banff Center in Banff, Canada. It is a self-directed program where I can work on this project, from writing the music to developing a production plan for performance. I was given a full scholarship for the residency and a portion of room and board. So I need your help so that I can take advantage of this amazing program.

My first iteration of this work, The Grieving Place, asked people to contemplate grief, not just in the sense of loss of life, but in other life events that left them feeling loss and absence. Echoes of Unspoken Weight will ask people to think about how they carry loss in their bodies and their day-to-day lives.
