Fund a transplant for Roosevelt Boone

Hello, my name is Roosevelt V. Boone III. I created this Go Fund Me page because I am in need of financial support to get a life-saving kidney transplant. Absent this operation; I will die before my work here on earth is complete. Of course, my story is different than most. Who am I? I am a man that has worked on behalf of marginalized communities and their residents, worked and volunteered on major human rights initiatives and devoted a great deal of my time to following spiritual principles to enhance my world and others.

I was an HR DIRECTOR for the American Red Cross (Southeastern Michigan chapter); Political Director for the Service Employees Union in Detroit, MI; Chief Negotiator for Contracts and Strikes in Ohio (SEIU); founding Board member of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) in Prince Georges County, Maryland; and I spent a little time on Wall Street and worked for or with several foundations. Yes, I also have scrubbed floors, done construction work and other forms of Labor. The substantive part of this is that I am still here because there is much work to be done right here and right now, and I am willing. I am presently doing an online program entitled " PRAYER WORKS " on Sunday evenings, and I sit on several Boards as a volunteer. My entire life has been devoted to the service of others.

Over the last 30 years, I have endured a number of health challenges, and because of prayer, friends, family and the Creator, I am still dancing to the rhythm of peace, love and possibilities! I have been diagnosed with high antibodies, which makes my transplant challenging. At this writing, there are only two jurisdictions that are conducting this type of transplant and have been sanctioned by the FDA. I can only get this operation presently at NYU Langone Medical Center, New York, or in California. I have been accepted into the transplant institute at NYU under Dr. Robert Montgomery and Dr. Ali.

I need your financial assistance because my insurance will only cover 80% of my medical cost for services rendered outside the state in which I reside. The remaining 20% could be as much as $250,000. In addition, I will need reasonable accommodations for an estimated two-to-four weeks during the postoperative transplant stage so the doctors at NYU can follow me until I am able to return home. If I can find a living donor, I will have a living donor transplant.

I have been on dialysis for several years, but the procedure, which is life-saving, ultimately destroys your organs, lessens your focus and memory, and is physically draining, leading to a lack of energy. At this point, everyday activities are a challenge, whether it is going to the store, hospital or an outing of sorts. So, I am asking for your help so I can have this very necessary medical procedure. Please donate, as Spirit leads you to do so, and please share my story with others.
