Help Fund a MTB Flow trail @ Sunrise

NEW TRAIL CONSTRUCTION ALERT TGR founding members need your CONTINUED SUPPORT!!

We are blown away by the support from the MTB community and very thankful for your support. The new goal can provide us with more machine time=more features and/or help with good lumber for features.

Original story shortened up------
We are on a personal mission to bring mountain bikers a new trail @ Sunrise Ski resort Aka Sunrise Bike Park. Starting soon is the construction of 2 miles of machine-cut flow trail built in a way everyone will enjoy!

This project is supported by TGR and its core volunteer rider base but is financially supported by our personal funds and personal donations from those in the mountain bike community that support this special project.

Long, long Short story cut short is after many years of approaching Sunrise about doing maintenance with TGR crew with no luck on striking a deal that balanced work vs. reward aka lift tickets for volunteers we struck a deal this year. With management at an all-time high at Sunrise. James(no stranger to Sunrise) and I decided to up the ante for our personal mission. I suggested and offered the starting cash out of my pocket to not only design and build a green flow trail for mountain bikers. Our offer was accepted with the support of the Bike Park manager(Brian), Sunrise Staff and the Tribe's blessing.

The concept was to build a green machine-cut flow trail giving mountain bikers who visit Sunrise a much-needed Green Flow Trail! Sunrise has great old-school raw gnar that is not always appreciated by newer and younger riders just getting into the gravity sport. The trail will be built in a manner that also allows for rider progression while on the same trail(blue options). The goal is to provide a friendly, flowy, fun trail that everyone will enjoy and put into the rotation of their favorite trails to ride when visiting Sunrise.

We are super stoked to be able to bring this project to life and look forward to the hoots and hollers that will be echoing down the mountain.

We also hope this is the beginning of a yearly push to add to and make Sunrise truly an Arizona destination that has something for everyone + more!(did you know there is even a jump line and dual slalom coming to Sunrise? Check out Colby's work @ Colbys_bike_tracks on istagram )

Every little bit helps accomplish the goal. Corridor clearing is well on its way and machine work starts the First Week of August. We are hopeful with the dedication of our machine operators and the volunteers we will have this trail ready to ride by Mid September. This is not a small task and will take tremendous work and sacrifice to complete.

Disclaimer****

None of TGR funds are being utilized for this project and any donations made to TGR or through any donation link on our website will NOT be used for this project as TGR funds are only for Pinal Mountain and our Pinal Mountain Master Plan. So be sure to donate to the gofundme page if you want to support this specific project.

There will be multiple public volunteer opportunities to help out in front of the machine and to help with the ever so gratifying hand finishing work behind the machine. Keep an eye on the Facebook volunteer page for those public events. Sunrise will give you a one day pass for helping us bring this trail to life.

You might ask, why not Double black? Well, we have to start somewhere!

But really, what the mountain needs is this trail. There are far too many who only go to Sunrise once because of the gnar. This trail will benefit all levels of riders and will quickly become a favorite while reducing the amount of wear and tear our raw gnar gets from riders who have nothing else to ride. Also, most new riders never return after being dragged down the mountain by their much better riding buddies. Even the road is sketchy for new riders. Besides, who doesn't like a nice fast-flow trail that all types of riders can rock? We def have other plans for new blues and hand-built blacks, but this is the first focus.

Trail building and creating trails for future riders has and always will be our growing passion.

Big thanks to everyone who helped us meet our initial conservative goal of $5000!!

While this is executed by TGR founding members and our core volunteers, this is funded only with our personal money and your donated support dollars. Even if it's just a coffee's worth of support, it all adds up. Please help us fund a trail you and many others like you will enjoy for many years!

Again Current or future TGR funds cannot be used for this. We cannot fundraise through TGR for the project because Sunrise is a business that will make some extra money from our efforts due to increased traffic from people wanting to check out the first lift-assisted flow trail in AZ.
