My name is Heather Szklasz and I have a truly incredible sister. My sister, Nicole, has been through a lot throughout her life and over the past several years, she and I have been through a lot of hard times together. Ever since I was a kid I always looked up to her and wanted to be just like her, even before I was old enough to understand just how much she has been through.
Anyone who knows my sister knows she has an amazing kind heart. She would give everything she has just to help someone in need. Nikki is also an insanely hard worker who does everything in her power to make sure her students have all of the necessary tools they need to have the best education and classroom experience.
In November of 2017, Nikki was diagnosed with stage 2A cervical cancer. She even waited until after Thanksgiving to tell anyone in our family so the news wouldn't hinder our good time. Nikki has now gone through 8 weeks of external beam radiation and still has at least one more to go. Although she has done her best to continue working during this time, there are some days when the fatigue and nausea are too much.
I'm creating this page so we can all pull together and help her manage this growing expense. No one should have to go through this alone. We need to work together to fight back against cancer. Anything helps, whether it's a donation or sharing this campaign!
