To make an impact, you may have to meet someone's needs and meet them where they are, before you can even introduce what you are trying to teach them...
Hi, my name is Erin McGinley, I am a teacher at Warner Elementary School in Wilmington, DE. I have the best students in the world. They work hard, make me laugh, and become a part of my family each and every year. BUT, most of them come from unfortunate circumstances and my heart goes out to them each and every day. The kids I teach come to school with smiles on their faces but needs in their hearts. Most are at an age where they know they do not have everything they need, but do not know how to ask or simply fulfill that need themselves...
SO this is where YOU and I can partner together to make a real life difference for someone else! And lets not forget that if we can serve one child, that it is not just that one child being impacted, but maybe the family is given a glimmer of hope at exactly the right time that they need it most. This in turn sparks a generational change!
I have a few goals to set my little scholars up for success this year. It is very difficult and at times even not feasible for some of my students to afford the required school supplies, uniforms, book bags, and winter coats. My teammate, Ashleigh Brant, and I provide most of these necessities to our students throughout the school year with our personal money. The money raised will and has gone toward the aforementioned items. The supplies will be given throughout the school year. I know that myself, my students, and their families will be extremely grateful for any donations made so that our kids can be successful. Thank you!
If you are not financially able to donate, you can still take part! We are also collecting winter jackets, rain coats, backpacks, pens, pencils, notebooks, binders, books and so on and so forth! If you want to give items, please mail them to:
