<div>On May 1st, our dad —a dedicated 69-year-old diesel mechanic— was seriously injured in a tragic workplace accident. While he was working beneath a truck, his helper accidently shifted the gear, causing the vehicle to move forward and pin both of his legs under the tires. He was airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center with multiple fractures to his left leg and injuries to his right leg.

<div>By God’s grace, the surgery was successful, and we’re incredibly grateful he’s alive and on the road to recovery. But the journey ahead will be long. He’ll need physical therapy and extended time off to heal, and as the main provider for his household, he’s now deeply worried about how he’ll manage the hospital bills, household expenses, and daily living costs while unable to work.

<div>El 1 de mayo, nuestro padre, un dedicado mecánico diésel de 69 años, resultó gravemente herido en un trágico accidente laboral. Mientras trabajaba debajo de un camión, su ayudante cambió de marcha accidentalmente, lo que provocó que el vehículo se moviera hacia adelante y le aplastara ambas piernas bajo las llantas. Fue trasladado en helicóptero al Centro de Trauma Ryder con múltiples fracturas en la pierna izquierda y lesiones en la derecha.

<div>Por la gracia de Dios, la cirugía fue un éxito y estamos increíblemente agradecidos de que esté vivo y en camino a la recuperación. Pero el camino por delante será largo. Necesitará fisioterapia y un tiempo de baja prolongado para recuperarse, y como principal sostén de su hogar, ahora está profundamente preocupado por cómo manejará las facturas del hospital, los gastos del hogar y los costos diarios mientras no pueda trabajar.
