As a small business owner this is a scene you never want to drive up to. Sadly, on the night of May 30th, someone broke into Fuel and set a fire in our kitchen. The fire caused significant damage. We have to close to make repairs, and we are asking for help supporting our staff while we rebuild. We are keenly aware of the issues that face our country, and we don't want to divert attention from these painful realities. But we do want to support the very heartbeat of our restaurant : our staff. Our staff was recently hired back after many weeks off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and they have spent the past few weeks working tireessly to get the restaurant prepared to re-open. They showed up each day ready to take on any new task; they cleaned, they scrubbed, they painted, they organized, they landscaped, they even helped build a new fence. They worked hard, and they never complained. They were simply happy to be working. Now, we have been forced to close again while we repair the fire damage. Many have asked how they can help. OUR GOAL OF $25,000 will allow us to cover our payroll for the next few weeks, while we complete the repairs. ALL the donations will go directly to help keep our staff employed during this time. We truly have the best employees, and we feel so grateful they have remained dedicated to our little operation over the past few months, even as many of them faced financial hardship. While the fire was heartbreaking, we have been overwhelmed by the love and support of our wonderful community in this difficult time. We are grateful for any donation you're able to make in support of our staff, and they look forward to seeing you back at Fuel this summer.
