Hi! We’re Bogo Racing.
We’re a team of University of West Florida students turning a Miata into a real endurance race car.
Our group includes sophomores through seniors who love motorsports and hands-on learning. This project started the way a lot of good ideas do, a group of friends asking, “What if we actually did this?”, and then committing to make it our senior Capstone project.
Our goal is to compete in the 24 Hours of Lemons at NOLA Motorsports Park on March 7–8. Lemons is a national endurance race where teams push budget cars to their limits through hours of continuous racing. It’s equal parts engineering challenge, teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving under pressure.
What we’re building
- 1990 Mazda Miata chassis and suspension
- Custom drivetrain using a Mazda B2200 platform
- Ford 8.8 aluminum differential
- Full safety systems built to Lemons competition standards
Everything is student-built and student-managed.
The Cost
The total project cost is about $8700 (not including travel). We are actively working with local businesses and sponsors to cover the majority of those expenses.
Every contribution helps reduce the out-of-pocket cost for students and gets us one step closer to the starting grid. We’re not just building a race car, we’re building real experience, real skills, and a project we’re proud to represent for UWF.
Thank you for supporting Bogo Racing and helping a group of students turn an idea into something real.
