In the Early hours of February 15 2024, Douglas woke up from the heat to everyone’s worst nightmare. His home was engulfed in flames. As Doug looked up from his bed to see the celling full of flames fall in. His 1st instinct was to find his fur baby Pheobe (beloved family member & much adored cat of 13 years). Doug was unable to find her & somehow managed to escape within about 10 seconds before his room was taken over by jet like flames.

Doug then ran over to the other units knocking on everyone's doors to wake them & get them out of there before the fire spread. In doing this Doug has saved many lives of his then fellow housemates. The fire fighters had expected many fatalities when they arrived at the scene however thanks to Doug's heroic quick thinking actions this was not the case.

Doug then went back into the flames to find Pheobe returning with only burns to his hands & smoke inhalation. "The heat was just too intense & I couldn't save my baby" the devastation in his voice as he cried for his fur baby was heartbreaking.

Doug is now left with no where safe to live, he has suffered great loss of his much-adored Pheobe, all of his entire belongings & due to this is now unable to return to work. Douglas only recently gained access to his super-annuation to help grow his business fixing electronics. All which were destroyed in the fire.

Investigators are now looking into a possible electrical fire within the roof of the building.
