Hello!

My name is Mariama Lemon and I am a sophomore at the White Mountain School. As a low-income student from the Bronx, it is a privilege to be apart of such a loving and supportive environment.

With the help of my school, I have been recently accepted to go on a cultural and service learning trip to Nepal this summer with an organization called Global Routes. Global Routes is a non-government organization that allows students to immerse themselves in small rural communities around the world as they build schools and help.

With these funds, I will be able to engage in a small community through a homestay program as I volunteer. I am so excited to have this opportunity because I want to be able to experience what is out there. There is so much in the world that I have read about, but, I want to be apart of the advanture.

I am most looking forward to making my world a little bigger by experiencing different realities. I want to be able to grow and challenge myself in this new environment while I help make a difference for those that are less fortunate than I am.

Ultimately, I am really lucky to have this opportunity. Any way that you will be able to help me on this journey will be very much appreciated. The deadline for my final deposit is April 1st.
