<div>Hallo ich bin Mia, 17 Jahre alt und mache gerade mein Abitur. Nach diesem großen Meilenstein kommt direkt der Nächste. Denn ich habe mir vorgenommen ein Freiwilliges Soziales Jahr mit der Organisation „Freunde der Erziehungskunst Rudolf Steiners“ zu machen. Im Rahmen des Internationalen Jugendfreiwilligendienstes geht es für mich ab August ein Jahr in die USA. Dort lebe und arbeite ich an der Camphill School für Kinder mit Beeinträchtigungen. Diese werde ich durch den Alltag begleiten und in der Schule oder bei Therapien unterstützen.

<div>Die Champhill School in der Nähe von Philadelphia existiert schon seit 1963, dort leben in etwa 150 Menschen, wovon 80 Kinder sind, welche die Schule besuchen. Nach den Grundsätzen der Anthroposophie wird den Menschen dort eine familienähnliche Gemeinschaft geboten in der sie auf ihre Zukunft vorbereitet werden.

<div>Mit meiner Arbeit dort möchte die Chance nutzen etwas Sinnvolles zu tun und meinen Horizont zu erweitern und andere Menschen kennenzulernen und zu unterstützen.

<div>Zwar wird der Großteil meines Freiwilligen Sozialen Jahrs vom Bundesministerium für Familie, Senioren, Frauen und Jugend unf meinen Eltern gedeckt, jedoch bleibt ein Teil des Geldbetrages übrig. Diesen Teil sammle ich über Spenden durch meinen Unterstützerkreis. Der Aufbau eines Unterstützerkreises ist verpflichtend für die Teilnahme am IJFD-Programm. Die Spendengelder fließen wieder in die Freiwilligendienste ein.
