Aaron's Motorized Wheelchair

Aaron contracted Polio when he was 6 years old. As a  child he spent most of his time in hospitals. Several surgeries insured that he had a working leg and one that was paralyzed. He walked on crutches his entire life until a few years ago, when his good knee just wore out. Continuing to work as he had done since a teen,  he discovered he could still do his job in a motorized wheel chair. This continued until over a year ago when our family business burnt down. This left both of us without work.  A month later Aaron was admitted to the hospital with Pneumonia. The first night they found him unresponsive and he was placed on a ventilator. After several months in hospital and rehab we now know he has Post Polio Syndrome and it not only affected his spine but also his lungs. He has Apnea, COPD, and now a trache and must use the vent to sleep. Despite all of this Aaron is a trooper he is calm, cool, and collected. (No matter how many break downs I have LOL) Until a few months ago his motorized chair broke down. After a while we were able to motivate with a push chair and that is still what he is using. He was referred to Patricia Neal Rehab in Knoxville there he was measured for a chair ordered to fit his needs, and his body. A month and a half later they break the news that our part after insurance was going to be $3000. A bit overwhelming at this time when I am presently looking for work and unable to leave him alone most of the time. So I have established  this campaign to give Aaron a way to be mobile again, to have a life, to be able to move on his own, to essentially be free. I ask that you please share this as many times and as long as it takes to get Aaron UP AND OUT!!!!!
