I WILL NOT BE STOPPED!!!

A Short Story of Victory Over Death, Hell and the Grave

Rashawn James is a 30 year old Son and Father of 4 beautiful children, whose ages range from 12 to 4 months old. Rashawn has 3 girls and 1 boy. Rashawn is a loving, outgoing, bubbly person. He loves adventure and is always ready to go out with his friends. He loves trying new things and is always known as the funny guy, the class clown, the one person who is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. He has always been an active man who enjoys working out in a fun game of basketball or going for a long jog. Hopping in the car and going on spontaneous road trips were things he did quite often when he was a man with no responsibilities such as kids.

When Rashawn is out with his children, he is the parent that is sliding down the slide and running for his life in a game of tag. Rashawn often says that having his children changed his life and slowed him down for the better. They showed him how to love on a greater level than he ever thought possible. Nothing brings him joy like his kids except for cars.

Rashawn has had a passion for cars his entire life.  His father started showing him how to work on cars since before he can even remember. He has been a car mechanic since his teenage years. He loves everything about cars from working on them to driving in them. And planned on opening his own mechanic shop.

 Life Changes in an Instant

The Accident: Saturday August 31,2019 at 10:00am

After feeding his kids breakfast and promising them a fun day ahead. Rashawn left to go on his morning jog which he did on a daily basis. Rashawn came to a busy intersection and waited for the crosswalk light to give the ok for him to cross. Of course, he just knew it was safe since the cars in the turning lanes already started moving. As Rashawn was crossing the crosswalk a car ran the red light. Rashawn, being a runner, you can imagine that his body frame is lean and fit. The driver was driving so fast that the impact of the car split Rashawn’s stomach open on the side which instantly covered the windshield in blood. The car carried Rashawn about 10 feet further. Once the driver hit the brakes Rashawn was then thrown off the windshield where he landed on the concrete, on his right side. From the impact of this his right arm burst open, damaging it beyond repair. The last things Rashawn remembered from the accident was hearing a bystander screaming, seeing the driver of the vehicle get out the car. Rashawn remembered asking the driver, “Why did you run the light?” Rashawn said he tried to move and saw the bloody mess that was supposed to be his right arm and he passed out. He never heard the driver’s response to his question.

Rashawn regained consciousness, after being brought back to life twice while on the surgical table, later that day. The Surgeon, who put Rashawn back together, told his family when he came to check in on him that “Rashawn was blessed and lucky to be alive”. While operating on Shawn he didn’t have a lot of confidence that he would make it through the surgery because so much blood was lost at the scene of the accident. But the Surgeon said he was determined to do his best to save him because he knew that Rashawn had a lot to live for. The nurses and doctors all said from the moment Rashawn was placed in the back of the ambulance at the scene and came into the hospital that whenever he would wake up for a few seconds, he would mention his kids. He would say how he wanted to see his children. They all were so worried that he would not make it.

The Surgeon worked on Rashawn for more than 4 hours. When Shawn finally became coherent it was almost 2 days later. The drugs that he was given for the pain had him extremely drowsy. However, he awoke to find that his left leg was dislocated, he had 3 broken ACL in his right leg and that he would need follow up surgery. His left arm was ripped open and the nerves in the arm and hand were so damaged that surgery must be done to make sure he would be able to use that hand since it is now the only hand he has left. You see, his right arm had to be amputated above the elbow because it was damaged beyond repair.

The first thing Rashawn said when he realized how damaged his body was “How am I going to win during a play fight with my kids?”

Note from Rashawn
I am Rashawn James, better known to my family and friends as “Shawn”. There is no question that God saved my life and restored my broken and torn body to complete my assignment as Father, Husband and Provider of my family. As my life is now changed and greatly challenging, I am reassured that God is watching over me and giving me favor every day.
The driver of the car that caused this horrific change in my life did not have any insurance or owned any personal property.
Because I was a young entrepreneur in the business of Car Repair, hospital insurance, 401k, or huge savings are not there. I need to have equipment to help with my mobility, medicines to sustain health, and basic needs for me as well as my family. I will need training in a career that I can perform with the disabilities I now have. This is overwhelmingly huge. I need your help.
I know you’re saying, “He needs a Lawyer”. Yes, I do and I have reached out for that, however, I need these basics right now for me and my family.
First and foremost, I need a prosthetic arm, which is thousands of dollars. This is my immediate concern.
I WILL NOT BE STOPPED!!! God has given me this assignment and I know he is sending finances from the NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, & WEST. Please find that place of compassion in your heart and GOFUNDME.
I thank God in advance for your generosity. May God open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing in your house that you will not have room enough to contain it.

Sincerely grateful,
Shawn aka Frost
