We are Kathy and Stacey and we are Team Front Range Rebelles! We are competing in the 2019 Rebelle Rally and we would love your support!
The Rebelle Rally is the first women’s off-road navigation rally raid in the United States. The rally teams will work their way from Lake Tahoe to San Diego, in some of the most spectacular terrain in the US, with only a map and compass. NO GPS!
From the Rebelle Rally website: "Blending the love of driving with the ultimate challenge of precise navigation, the Rebelle tests your skills over 8 days of competition. It is not a race for speed, but a unique and demanding event based on the elements of headings, hidden checkpoints, time, and distance using maps, compass, and roadbook."
Kathy first heard about the Rebelle Rally in 2017, after purchasing her 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser, and thought to herself what a cool event it was and how out-of-reach it seemed to her at the time.
After attending the rally last October as media crew, she was in awe of all the women and the rally volunteers, the amazing camaraderie, the support, but most of all, seeing and feeling the joy from the rally participants as they crossed the finish line, was something she won't soon forget.
After that, Kathy knew she needed to do this event and found a willing team mate to experience this adventure with her. Stacey is a designer, artist, photographer, maker, creator, lover of animals and everything outdoors—happiest hiking, camping, off-roading and being anywhere with more trees and less people. She is excited to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Together, we want to experience this amazing event together, finish the rally safely and in one piece (us and the FJ), and share our adventure with everyone! We even want to encourage other women to also go out and explore and find their adventure, whatever that may be!
We hope to raise the registration fee for the rally by September 1st as the deadline is September 10th--there is more beyond that we need to raise. We hope to raise a lot through sponsorships as well. Any amount we raise beyond this GoFundMe goal will go to Girls, Inc Metro Denver, an organization "Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold."
