Dear Genesee County Family & Friends,
The COVID-19 pandemic has spread across our country and our immediate community at rapid speed. Our numbers here in Genesee County are increasing dramatically every day. We, at Blackstone's, have not gone without feeling the immediate impact. After 2 weeks of selling carryout meals it became apparent this was not going to be something we could maintain. The very difficult decision was made to discontinue this activity. We are certainly concerned about our future. But more so, we are concerned about our community.
Although we do not have the ability to build ventilators, or the skills to sew PPE masks, we do know how to make great food. We are hearing our call to help! We can support our frontline caregivers with a quality meal they can eat without having to worry about preparation or cost. We are committing to providing these caring professionals a minimum of 1000 boxed meals every week during this crisis. This is a scary commitment without having any revenue coming in and little resources on reserve. However, we feel this is the best way we can make a difference. We are determined to meet this goal. We need your help! Each meal box will have an approx. base cost of $6. For every box that is sponsored we will prepare a second box for these wonderful people that are taking care of our loved ones. Please help us in reaching our goal. We are in this together. We can do this together!
