My name is Tonyia,
I am directed by a higher calling to help several of my co-workers who are facing hard times financially. The people that I work alongside give selfless care to our patients. My coworkers come to work with a smile and willingness to do their jobs knowing that they may go home and the lights and water may be shut off, or even worst: very little food.
Despite Covid-19, some of us are very blessed to have a job that pays all of our bills. But the reality of this pandemic is that many hardworking people with jobs are facing eviction, food shortages, and left making difficult decisions. Many facing decisions are deciding to pay a car payment and keeping lights on in a dwelling or allowing the repossession of their only transportation to get back and forth from work.
Due to COVID-19, safety nets that have helped many in the past now strained to the point of breaking. Churches and non-profit organizations have depleted the majority of their resources. NC Social Services have income requirements that many do not qualify for due to making just a little bit more than the guidelines to receive help.
The truth is that someone in need of help can take a whole day off from work to search for help, going from a government agency and non-profit to another and still not find any.
It is my hope, to allow God’s love work by getting people like you to help those in our midst who are suffering financially. Every dollar donated will be used wisely, will help some coworkers where I work by providing food, childcare, and help them avoid foreclosure or eviction.
I am calling on all my sibling’s; YES, I said siblings because we are all united by a higher calling, so please donate.
