Front Porch Improv

Hello!

We're Front Porch Improv, and we just opened our own theatre! We have been bringing comedy shows to the Savannah community for the past 3 years, at various venues such as Ghost Coast Distillery and The Blind Sus, but our dream was always to open our own space.

We also are the team behind Savannah for Morons, a ridiculous trolley tour that takes 300 years of Savannah history...and turns that history on its head. We also wear rompers, in case you didn't know.

One month ago - after 6 months of hard labor - we officially opened Front Porch Improv Theatre at 210 West Victory Drive! It's been great. Better than great! And on the Savannah for Morons side, we just started truly hitting our stride and were selling out all of our trolley tours, so much so that we started adding new days and times to our regular tour schedule. And then the coronavirus hit.

A huge part of what we love about Front Porch is being part of the community. We host fundraisers throughout the year for local non-profits, we provide free classes for kids and give diversity scholarships to our Improv classes. These events and programs are what we truly believe in. But coming together to enjoy a show or take a class is not possible at this time as we we ride out this virus and practice social distancing. Unfortunately, we have had to shut down our theatre for an unknown period of time. This is our way of protecting the community we love.

And as far as Savannah for Morons goes, we love just being silly and bringing joy to people's lives by jumping around on a trolley for an hour and a half - in rompers of course - several times a week. Obviously, we can't do that right now, and that, sadly, means that we can't bring in any funds from the tours either.

In protecting others and ourselves from getting sick, we become vulnerable as a new business. Our loss of income is going to be very tough on our families and is impacting this space - and the trolley tours - that we have poured our money and our hearts into. So we're asking for your help to get us through this. Any donations will go towards rent and utilities, and to keeping our Morons paid, while our space and tours remain closed. If you can give a little, we will be forever grateful and promise to sing your praises! But seriously - anything you can give will help us to keep our doors open and trolleys running when it's time to open back up.

Also, we have some exciting announcements — mostly that we want to continue to entertain you, especially in these trying times! You're all cooped up, so we're getting creative. We have been doing storytime for kids at 1pm every day, mixed in with some improv. We'll continue to do that for the little ones. And we're coming up with fun and creative ways to bring you Morons content as well! A little bit of history with a lot of nonsense is what you want, you say?!? We've got you covered.

And we other plans to keep bringing you content, depending on how long this whole pandemic lasts. We seriously love all the support you've given us throughout the years, and we know you need some distraction and entertainment! So we're on it.

Stay tuned in to Facebook, Instagram and our website for details on future online projects as we all ride this out.

We love you all. And when it's time to hug again, we'll give you all the hugs in the world.
