Help Vicky keep fighting!

Victoria was born with highly complex congenital heart disease. She is being treated by the Cardiology Congenital team at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. She is now 16 years old, and was born with a subaortic membrane.  She had original resection of the membrane in Venezuela in 2010. At surgery she suffered severe iatrogenic damage to the mitral valve causing severe mitral regurgitation. Subsequently, she underwent a 23mm St Jude Valve replacement in the mitral position here at Miami Children´s on March 9 2011. Then, because of worsening left ventricular outflow tract obstruction partially secundary to the artificial valve, on August 29 2012, she underwent a Konno procedure with a 19mm St Jude Aortic Valve inserted in the left ventricular outflow tract and a large patch was put in the ventricular septum. She also had a resection of some rigth ventricular muscle bundles and left ventricular septal myectomy. She had a difficult postoperative course but eventually stabilized (despite the fact that the child has not really grown).
There is some turbulence across the aortic valve as well. In summary, obviously I´m concerned about this child condition. There are limitations here because the mother does not have insurance... She then underwent an RV outflow tract reconstruction for subvalvular obstruction in April,  2014.

She recently had a cardiac catheterization done here at Miami Children's 02/25/2015, and to our surprise required closure of a coronary artery right ventricular fistula in the interventional catheterization lab and resulted in an improvement in her condition.

On her last exam she reported to he able to to walk around.  At times she tires.  She intermittently reports feeling some palpitations or mild dizziness.

I'm concerned about the degree of obstruction of the right ventricular outflow, she had a 60mm estimated right ventricular pressure by TI jet.

These are paragraphs of her last medical reports per Dr Richard Zakheim and the Niklaus for Kids (former Miami Children's Hospital) cardiology team.

Victoria wants to keep fighting and needs to have close medical supervision to keep her heart condition as controlled as possible.

Exams are very expensive and with 8 heart procedures without insurance coverage in 5 years, our budget is limited.

Thanks for your support,

God bless you!
