The brutality of the war on Gaza has rendered life here unbearable, and I am compelled to seek refuge elsewhere, away from this relentless turmoil.

<div>In moments of despair, I often recall a photograph I took in the serene oasis of Siwa. The tranquility of that place stands in stark contrast to the chaos and devastation I witness daily in Gaza. It is this memory that fuels my determination to seek a better life, free from the horrors of war.

<div>For those who may not know me well, I am Mohammed AlZaqzouq, a Palestinian author and researcher. I have dedicated my life to literature and education, striving to amplify the voices of my people through my writings. My work has been recognized and honored in various literary circles, including the prestigious AlKhalili award for poetry.

<div>I am a husband and father of three children: Baraa, aged 6, Jawad, aged 4, and Basel, aged 2. The decision to leave Gaza will take us towards Egypt for a period of six months as we arrange for our literary residency and explore opportunities for a more stable life.
