Hi, my name is Angelica Carrington, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my best friend—my chosen sister—Apple.

On May 13, 2025, Apple’s world was shattered when her beloved two-year-old Great Dane, Soy, passed away suddenly from cardiac arrhythmia. Soy wasn’t just a pet—he was her baby, her emotional anchor, her constant. He was goofy, doofy, loving, and full of life. Anyone who met him instantly felt his warm spirit and gentle heart.

Apple built her daily life around Soy. From long walks and car rides to snuggles on the couch, he was truly her world. His unexpected loss has left her devastated, and she’s been struggling deeply with grief and depression.

As someone who’s been by Apple’s side for 18 years, I’ve seen her through many ups and downs—but this pain is different. That’s why I’m reaching out to our community, friends, and anyone who’s ever known the special bond between a person and their dog.

This fundraiser is to help cover the cost of Soy’s memorial and to support Apple with grief counseling and healing resources. I want to help her honor Soy’s memory in a meaningful way—and make sure she doesn’t walk through this heartbreak alone.
