My Goal: Raise money to publish my unique book Demystifying College Admission because I sincerely believe that this success-proven program will help super-achievers from every background. It provides the means to navigate the new educational paradigm that we find ourselves in today. It can be the difference between success and failure!

Why High Test Scores Are Not Enough:
The landscape of education is shifting by the hour. We are no longer able to depend on high grades and SAT scores to guarantee admission. How to appeal to a college admission board is more critical than ever. Knowing yourself, believing in yourself, knowing where you want to attend college, and why are more important than ever. My book will inform, inspire, empower, and mentor you through the process of college admission in a world that is continuously changing by the moment. I wrote it to provide guidance and support for others I never received.
The Motivation Behind This Project:
Imagine a little boy growing up on a ranch surrounded with lakes, meadows, and some of the tallest trees in the world, yet he feels terrified every moment because his mom beat him with a broom handle. After all, she had a mental illness. Imagine this little boy trying to go to a school where he is placed in a particular education class, bullied by other kids. Teachers tell him that he will never amount to anything. In his heart, he is a super-achiever who wants to go to college, but he feels stuck in a system that won't allow him to grow. That little boy is me.
I leave home at 15 because of my neglectful stepmother. I find myself homeless on the streets of New York City, where predators prey on young people alone in the city. I stay at institutions for abandoned boys. Some of the boys steal my belongings and threaten me. A counselor tells me that I will not survive because I am not streetwise.
Even though I felt frightened, I survived because I never stop dreaming that one day I will become a super-achiever. I couldn't go to school because I did not have a residence. Yet, I found refuge at the New York Public Library. Walking up the steps in between the lions, I felt I had entered in a mystical world of possibility.
Some people tried to discourage me. They said I could never afford college. They told me that I was too old. Nevertheless, I never lost sight of my dream. I decided that my future to be is up to me. Even before I enrolled in a class to take the GED to earn my high school equivalency, I read many books on many topics. I imagined that I had already enrolled in college.
When I enrolled at a community college, I not only learned how to study and take the right classes to transfer to a university, I developed the networking skills and social cues to connect with faculty. I worked at many sales jobs, which taught me to be aggressive in making sure I selected supportive yet challenging instructors. I joined the pre-med club, the re-entry club, and participated in many social events concerning politics, equality, women's rights and resources for older students. I discovered that admission to a college depends on who you know as well as what you know. I spent many hours at the library because I knew that just attending classes would not be enough to qualify me for admission to my dream school at UC Berkeley. I needed to go the extra mile and become a High-Performance Super-Achiever.
As a result of all my work, I received admission to UC Berkeley, the only school I applied to. Before my acceptance, I visited the campus many times, took tours, and spoke with several professors before making my final decision. I realized that the social and physical atmosphere of a college is just as essential as the prestige and quality of education.

I provided guidance, support, and direction to many high school students and created a line of students who are critical thinkers and very independent and ready for college.
