<div>Hi, I'm Pritpal, and I turned 75 last year. My dream is to complete the London Marathon as last year at Mile 17 I couldn't continue due to severe cramps. Please read my story below:

<div>I used to love running until I got diagnosed with myeloma a rare blood cancer, and things changed for me as I couldn't exercise as much. I encouraged my daughter Minreet to keep running and to start a run club, which is where Asian Women Run started.
</div>

</div>
<div>In 2023, I did my first marathon with my daughter and husband. At mile 17, I suffered severe cramps and couldn’t continue. I was devastated as I wanted to get the medal but I couldn't continue and my daughter ran the remaining miles to get me a medal.
</div>

</div>
<div>Since Sept 2023, I've been living with myeloma, and I'm currently in remission. I fight every single day with strength, resilience, and quiet determination. This year, I wrote an intention: to return to the London Marathon and finish what I started.
</div>

</div>
<div>I am doing the London Marathon this year with my daughter and husband, and am determined to cross the finish line and finally receive a medal I never got. This year we will also have members of Asian Women Run doing the marathon and some for the first time.
</div>

</div>
<div>This marathon is more than a race; it’s a symbol of hope, healing, and perseverance. At 75, living with blood cancer, I want to show everyone that dreams don’t expire and strength comes in many forms. I want more women to follow their dreams and not let a health condition stop them from moving.
</div>

<div>My journey is at the heart of Asian Women Run CIC. Through this community, we aim to inspire, encourage, and motivate more women, especially Asian women, to move, whether that’s running, walking, or simply being more physically active, and to believe that their bodies, stories, and dreams matter.
</div>

</div>
<div>This is about creating a global movement where women feel seen, supported, empowered, and happier at every stage of life.
</div>

</div>
<div>We welcome women from all backgrounds and all ages. We are inclusive and committed to empowering more women to be visible and represented in running.

<div>I am raising money for Asian Women Run CIC, a not-for-profit community created to change a reality too many women still face.
</div>

<div>South Asian women are among the least physically active and most health-inequitable groups in the UK, not through choice, but because of challenges such as isolation, caring responsibilities, cultural expectations, safety concerns, and a lack of spaces where they truly feel they belong.
</div>

<div>Asian Women Run is changing that.
