I have seen firsthand maternal and infant deaths due to preventable complications during pregnancy and birth. All it would have taken was the time to provide prenatal education in a structured and engaging way to prevent this outcome, and that is exactly why From Mother to You aims to combat this prevalent issue in The Gambia, West Africa.
Many women are illiterate and From Mother to You is raising funds to create an image-only pregnancy guide book to empower women with life saving information to reduce the prevalence of pregnancy related complications. Also, custom nursery bags will encourage birth preparedness. When a mother is empowered with knowledge and equipped with the resources for a healthy pregnancy, she will have everything she needs to raise a healthy child and live a healthy life.
