Hello. My name is Donald Richards. I am trying to raise funding to get permanent apartment housing by securing first and last month's rent, a security deposit, and hopefully 6 months' rent, so that I may continue seeking my B.S. Degree in Liberal Arts and become a caseworker and advocate for mental health and disabled individuals facing homelessness. I am currently unemployed right now as I'm trying to navigate my freshman year as a full-time student.

I am currently homeless myself and facing eviction after federal funds were cut from the recovery program that I currently reside at in Homewood, PA. I have been notified today, after waiting over a month for word on housing, I was told by DHS that as a full-time or part-time student, I am ineligible for federal housing services. My situation is dire as a hearing-impaired, chronic diabetic, and recovering addict, I face eviction on April 21, 2025, and am faced with quitting college and giving up my dreams and aspirations of helping individuals who face the same situations that I now go through. I pray for your empathy and blessings so that I may continue with viable housing and security as I further my education.
