Help John Build a Safe Life: From Village Struggles to Streaming Dreams
Meet John. Or 4k Funny G, as his TikTok family knows him!
John (Funny G) is a 26-year-old streamer from a small village outside of Abuja, Nigeria. His story is one of unimaginable resilience, humor, and hope—shining light in a place that’s known more for hardship than opportunity.
When John was 15, he lost his father. As one of four children, he became a quiet pillar of strength for his mother and siblings, even as their village lacked basic necessities like electricity, running water, or reliable food. Determined to survive and support his family, John began working dangerous jobs in coal mines—earning just $3 USD & lifelong side effects that negatively impact his health. With the money he earned and saved, he moved to a city for more opportunities.
At age 20, John left his village for Abuja. He arrived with almost nothing—no home, no connections, and no security. He lived in abandoned, unfinished buildings and worked grueling hours at construction sites. Eventually, he landed a security job that paid just $18 per month. He bought a phone and began learning English through the internet. That’s where something unexpected happened—he discovered TikTok.
Streaming became more than entertainment; it became a lifeline. With nothing but a cheap phone and a loving heart, John began sharing his world with viewers around the globe. He streamed during his 72-hour shifts, finding humor in hardship and friendship in strangers.
John is one of the most genuine, funny, and grateful people you'll ever meet. He brings laughter and light to his followers daily—even when he's never known what it feels like to take a shower. That's right—Funny G has never taken a real shower.
While the power of live streaming & TikTok has changed his life, He still lives in a very dangerous area with no electricity or running water. His access to food is still limited. He still witnesses brutality in his community. To stream, he must buy electricity daily, and yet, he continues to visit his village and care for his family with the little that he does have. In addition to making a huge impact on so many of his online supporters.
We are building a better life for John, 4K Funny G —and you can help.

️This Is Real. John Is Real. And he deserves better.
There’s a painful stigma around Nigeria due to online scams—yet only about 5% of the population participates in such activities. John is part of the other 95%—honest, hardworking, and overlooked. He's not here to scam anyone—he's already built real friendships with countless people, just by being himself: warm, funny, and deeply kind.
We’re working on a documentary to tell more of John’s story and to shine a light on the ongoing struggles in Nigeria and other parts of Africa—struggles that deserve the world’s attention, and its compassion.
Together, we can help John go from surviving to truly living. Our currency goes so far in Nigeria. Our support, and compassion goes even further. Thank you for being part of this journey.
