From Chernobyl with... OHM

Dear Friends,

I spent the last 10 years of my life battling an autoimmune disease...an illness that at times has left me unable to walk, unable to breath, unable to be part of this world, and at its worst emotionally desponded.  Thankfully, at my lowest points I have had friends who have grabbed my sinking hand and dragged me back.  With all that I have been through I am grateful.


My sickness, sarcoidosis, is a disease that affects few.  Because of that its curse is relatively unknown, and its cure is not even thought about.  It's an autoimmune disease.  Some say it comes from where I was born and grew up (Chernobyl) others just shrug.  In any event I have never let it stop me: I have been a mother, a yoga instructor, and a great friend.  I have given to all and asked for nothing.


Unfortunately, I must ask now.  My disease is progressing (and it is a killer - it killed Bernie Mac).  I need treatment which is both expensive and inconvenient (the leading expert in this area is located in the Midwest).  So while I have never asked for anything from any one I must now ask for kindness.  Anything that you donate will be wonderful in that it will give me hope.  And be confident that regardless of my ultimate fate, no matter what, I will continue to help those around me as much as I can.
