<div>My name is Nesma Sami Al-Abadleh, a mother to two of life’s most beautiful blessings: Majed (7 years old) and Asser (2 and a half years old).

<div>I wish the world around us was as beautiful as they are—but sadly, the reality we live in here in Gaza is far from that.

<div>Since I was a child, I watched my father work tirelessly in his small home goods store. He loved his job deeply and poured his health and time into building a life for us. My siblings followed in his footsteps—until this brutal war came and destroyed everything we had.

<div> After more than a year and a half of bombings, hunger, fear, and destruction, we have lost everything. Our five-story home was reduced to rubble. My father’s store was completely destroyed. My eldest brother lost his dream of marriage and stability after working day and night to build it. Even our city—its streets and buildings—was erased. Nothing remains… only the fragments of our dreams

<div>Our family includes five siblings, two of whom are still children:

<div>My brother Bilal, 15 years old, and my younger brother Dhiaa, 11 years old.

<div>They, too, have been deprived of their childhood—no school, no safety, no stability. Like so many children in Gaza, their dreams have been replaced by daily survival.

<div>We have no home, no work, and no familiar streets to walk. We live now in tents that offer no protection from the cold of winter or the heat of summer. Every day is a struggle just to survive.

<div>As a mother, my heart breaks daily when I can’t provide even the simplest things for my children—a piece of bread, or a small piece of candy. Like all children in Gaza, Majed and Asser have been deprived of education, safe play, healthy food, and a warm, clean home.

<div>My father—the free-spirited man who never stopped working even in the hardest of times—now stands helpless in the face of unbearable living costs, inflation, and the total absence of any source of income.
