From Above Community Projects

From Above is a nonprofit organization, sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Belfast, and serving the needs of the homeless and low income population of Waldo County.  Working with  several groups in the area, we provide temporary shelter, fuel for cooking and heating, warm clothing, food,  hygiene supplies, and emotional support.  We also are working to raise awareness about poverty and homelessness in Waldo County, with the long term goal of creating a Homeless Shelter.

Recently, From Above worked with a local, low income mother of six to make her living situation safer for her children and to prevent her from receiving fines from the City of Belfast.  This project cost $2,500 and From Above is raising money here to replace those funds and to fund future projects.

This organization has helped homeless members of our community find jobs, coordinate transportation, pay for temporary housing, take hot showers, and so many more things.  Please contribute what you can because every little bit helps us provide comfort to those in need.  If you would like more information, or are interested in volunteering, please reach out to Matt Bolduc at (207) [phone redacted].
