It may not look like much but my Frog Van (a.k.a. Nissan Vanette) is a great little battler.
I've written about it in my blog on numerous occasions, not only documenting my travels but also my efforts to try and get it back on the road with my own limited mechanical knowledge of engines.
Currently the van is sitting on our back veranda where it's barely moved since September of 2010, when it died after being our main work horse in moving houses. It still starts and still runs but has a serious issue with backfiring and over running, after being turned off, that is beyond my knowledge to repair - even after searching the internet for help.
It's unable to be driven far as some kind of build up in the cylinders is enough to stall the engine after about ten minutes driving.
I'd like to get it back on the road again so it can once again become a regular feature of my blog and so that maybe myself, my partner Enigma and our dog Oscar can travel a bit further than the local park for our adventures.
I'm estimating about $500.00 will be enough to hire a mechanic to fix it and, hopefully, pay the registration fees - which are almost $200.00 for just 3 months of using it on the road! As far as I know it doesn't need any new parts, it just needs someone who knows how to give it a proper tune up and service.
