Hurricane Harvey left a path of destruction in many areas throughout the great state of Texas. One of those hit hardest was the city of Friendswood. Over 1/3 of the homes within the small town were under water and many of those are a complete loss. As a community, we have been working diligently to clear homes of flooring, walls and all damaged items. Mother Nature left so many residents without everyday essentials and other necessities for day to day life. Some had flood insurance, some did not. The cleanup will take months and it will take event longer to rebuild. But, WE WILL REBUILD.
We are John and Diane Nemecek from Friendswood, TX and as a proud military family we have witnessed this amazing nation rally together to help those in need over the years and we hope you will consider making a contribution to this cause. Our home is fine but we are raising funds to help fill the gap for those in our community who are in need after MANY friends from across the country reached out asking how they could help. Funds raised will be distributed to families needing assistance purchasing supplies needed to help them rebuild as they wait for federal assistance or insurance claims to process. Some have no insurance at all and they will need a lot of help. Food, clothing, rental cars, anything needed to help them get started on the road to recovery. Due to the overwhelming generosity and inquiries of those we know all across the country we felt starting a GoFund Me page was the easiest solution. We will have the assistance of several representatives to account for all funds dispersed to include name, address and dollar amount of who is being assisted by your generous contributions. We will also provide you, the donors, with a total number of those we are impacting. We thank you for your support, prayers and willingness to help those in need rebuild.
In closing we would like to state that as a community we work hard each day trying to make a small difference for others. In sprite of all the destruction and loss, one thing we know for sure is God is good. Always! In all situations! We continue to be amazed by the hard work of so many fabulous volunteers and are surrounded by a community of truly wonderful souls who never stop giving. We have witnessed greatness that we simply cannot put into words. This is God working, no doubt about it! This is our town, this is our family, these are our people and we love them!! Together we will come through this stronger than ever. God bless and Godspeed!!
