Over the last 15 years the St.Mogues GAA Club have carried out major developments to its facilities in Ramstown including drainage, floodlights, hurling wall and spectator stand at a cost of almost €250,000. This was financed through grant aid and club funds to which the local community have contributed and was achieved without any major fundraising drive.
The next step in our development plan is the installation of a 900 sq. metre AstroTurf playing pitch. Work is already commenced on this. When complete this will be a major addition to our facilities and be available for use by all clubs and groups in our community.
Our Strictly Come Dancing fundraiser was a great success raising €23,000 towards the project. Through use of local contractors and voluntary labour we have reduced the cost of the finished project to €46,000 leaving a balance of €23,000 which we need to raise before 6th March to allow us to order the Astroturf and complete the project for the summer. We appreciate that the demands on people’s finances in these difficult times but we hope that you can see the benefits of this development to our community. In an effort to raise
this money we are writing to all adults in the area asking them for a contribution. The amount being suggested is €200 each but all contributions either larger or smaller would be greatly appreciated.
