Update Today May 18, 2017 RAIN OR SHINE THE FIGHT DON'T STOP!!
My wife had her checkup this
morning and Thank God, things are looking good right now. Unfortunately, Rosana will be starting her next round of chemo tonight which means, she will not be able to attend the benefit due to her immune system being low or "compromised."
She just wanted to let everybody know but still wants everybody to come out and support our fight RAIN or SHINE!
Speaking of the rain don't anyone worry, the show goes on!!! We will be selling and serving the plates INSIDE, nice and dry at Texas club Grill!! OUR GOAL IS 500 PLATES!

UPDATE MAY 2, 2017========================
Hello guys, As you are all aware of by now, my wife Rosana's tumor had signs of growth again this past month. We are currently treating her condition yet again with chemotherapy. It has been a roller coaster ride for us both mentally, physically, and financially. MRIs cost a whopping $1600 to $1900.
She has to have one every month so the doctors can track her response to the chemo. Insurance doesn't cover everything so we are doing a medical benefit for Rosana to offset the cost of some of the medical bills, future copays and such.
Now because of her immune system being deprived, she has also developed what the doctors call a "superbug" in her digestive tract. Diabeties management as well...It's a lot of hard work and discipline , but I have to do what I have to do to keep her going in the right direction.
We are trying to raise at least $1400 in the next 2 weeks for supplies to have the benefit on Saturday, May 20th, 2017.
The bulk of the bill of course will be the meat. We are looking for sponsors for this event or donations as well. I'm currently working on Rosana's Gofund me account. Here is the breakdown :
10 cases of chicken @ $40 a case =$400
10 case of sausage @ $20 a case = $200
The rest is for side items, beans, rice, potato salad, spices, city permit, drinks, Church. $800

UPDATE FEBRUARY 17, 2016===============
Hey everybody! I'm gonna be doing another benefit for my wife Rosana soon, on March 12 @ Advance Auto Parts on South First and Stassney on March 12th!
As you already know, my wife Rosana was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer almost 3 years ago. We have been blessed but the fight continues as the medical bills rack up month by month. She is now off chemo to see how she does but the danger remains as we wait to see what the results brings. I pray everything well! :)
We remain optomistic but changes to her care scares us a bit now that she is on Medicare. Switching over to that closes the door on some help as we now need to jump through the hoops to cover expenses that were covered before with insurance but not now after the changes. You gain new benefits, you lose some with those changes. Sometimes the stress of dealing with the government or insurance makes you sicker than the cancer. Politics I guess...smh.
It is a learning experience with health care as we go. Those that have been through this know the hell you have to go through.
Those that know me, know that I have no brothers or sisters to help. I have my wife, my mother who is post cancer with colon cancer and a 87 year old grandmother who has needs as well. I have to be there for my ladies.
We are asking for donations for Turkey legs, corn, beans, plates ect for the benefit or if you can't make it, leave a donation here. We appeciate all help.

I wanted to ask everybody to please pray for my wife Rosana. As most of you know she has stage 4 brain cancer and had a tumor removed, (most of it), last year.
We have made great progress over the last year because of our core care staff and prayers from people like yourselves. We just found out some news but I will share the details at a later time with respects to my wife. She will have to start Chemo all over again starting tonight.
Update***12-22-2014
The MRI revealed that their appears to be growth of possible a second tumor growing just above where her original tumor was before. The doctor's are not taking any chances and will be aggresively treating the "spot" with chemotherapy . She will begin this tonight. We have insurance but even with it the medical costs don't cover everything. We are learning as we go and this new healthcare system has everybody, even the doctors, confused. I was already getting ready to air a segment on Fox news a while back but the insurance issue was "magically" solved, when the reporter started calling the insurance company. It is a tough thing to go thru but we are strapped and need some help. Those of you that know us know that we are very proud people, and have always worked and tried to do what we can for our family and friends. She is worth it to me and we just need a little assistance to keep her going so that she may have the medications and continued care she needs. I do thank everyone in advance. There will also be a few events coming as well as Mix CD that I will have in 2015. all proceeds will go towards her continued medical care.

It sucks being that it is the week of Christmas but she is a trooper and my hero. It's times like this that we understand the true meaning of Christmas and the sacrifices that one must make to have TRUE happiness. It's not about gifts but it is about the gift of LIFE. It's so precious and fragile.
We can easily get depressed and give up but not on my watch. It is hard to watch someone you love go through this day in and day out. I also have to watch my mother go through her own post cancer symptoms. We are a small, poor family but we have each other, that make us the richest people on the block. We are very optimistic that she will be ok. We just have to do what we have to do.
Again, just asking for prayers, it does not cost a dime and is the best medicine in the world. Thank you to those who already have her in your daily prayers. I've also had a few personal medical issues of my own so if you have anything left, send some bonus prayers my way and my mom's way!
